Christmas and New Year meetings

Diamonds will still be meeting over the Christmas and New Year period with many of the regular events still taking place!  See the events diary for what the webmistress believes to be happening (please let her know if anything is incorrect!) but you may wish to check by contacting us or emailing the forum before turning up if you want to make sure you won't be the only one there!  Keep an eye on the forum and facebook too!

Christmas dinner success!

A great Christmas dinner was had by all at the Jolly Brewer, Milton last night - thank you to Susan for organising it!

This Thursday is going to be busy...

This Thurday's Meet, Chat and Discuss at the Boathouse (11th Dec, 8pm) now features two guest visits!  As well as Lily Quantock from Encompass Network (see post made on 2nd Dec) we are also being joined by Ruth Foreman and her friends who would like to meet us to get our input on the new lingerie web shop (Free To Be Me Ltd) they are setting up with a focus on supporting our particular needs.  They have put together some questions they would like to get answered, but are open to any particular clothing questions or needs that we may have.  So please come along on Thursday to the Boathouse and add your particular viewpoint!

December Dining Club

We'll be returning to our old favourite of the Hotpot (on Chesterton Road) for this month's dining club on Sat 6th December.  Meet at the Hotpot at 8pm.

Encompass visit - Thur 11th Dec

Lily Quantock from Encompass Network will be joining our Meet, chat and discuss event on Thur 11 Dec (8pm at the Boathouse) to learn more about trans issues and what Encompass can do to support Diamonds.  See you there!

External event of potential interest

The following event from Encompass Network may be of interest to some:

Encompass Network is delighted to announce our first social event solely for older LGBT people in our community. We will be having a tea, cake and film afternoon on Wednesday the 26^th November from 2-5pm at Ross St Community Centre.

This is a chance to chat, mingle and share your ideas with us as to what events and services you might want Encompass to help facilitate. A film will be kindly provided for us by Queers in Shorts to keep us entertained whilst we enjoy our cakes and refreshments. There is no cost to the event and all who think of themselves as ‘older’ are more than welcome to attend, as are their partners and friends.

Events reminder!

Don't forget that the new Quiet Night Thursday meetings at the Boathouse (8-11 pm) continue tonight, having got off to a great start last week!

Meanwhile the Wednesday sessions at the Boathouse and the Wednesday afternoon tea meets are still going strong, and we are also now entering a regular team at the Boathouse Sunday Quiz Nights.

So no excuse for not getting along to something!

Christmas dinner 2014

We're planning to return to our usual location in Milton for this year's Christmas dinner, and the date has now been fixed as Sat 20th December. Susan is organising the booking so please let her know and give her a £5 deposit if you would like to come. Regular Thursday Meetings

From November, Diamonds will be holding more meetings each week!
As well as the music night on Wednesday every week at the Boathouse from about 8:30,
we will also be hosting a quieter evening on Thursday every week, also at the Boathouse from 8:30.

Extra meeting Thursday 2/10/2014

An extra meeting has been requested for this Thursday.
This will be at the Boathouse, and hopefully will be quiet enough
that we can talk through a number of issues.
We will be meeting on Wednesday 1/10/2014 as usual.

Back in the Boathouse

We are back in the Boathouse this week, and going forward...

Boathouse not available Weds 16th July 2014

The Boathouse has been booked for a private function, so will not be available for our weekly meeting on Wednesday 16th July.

Instead, we plan to invade the upstairs dining area of the Tivoli next door.

Normal meetings at the Boathouse will resume on Wednesday 23rd July 2014

Still meeting at the boathouse

Mostly, the bands haven't been too noisy this year so-far, so you will mainly find us in the lounge on a Wednesday evening.
